LENKIEWICZ 2008
comes three and a half years after the last major dispersal
from the estate of the artist which was conducted by
Bearne's at Westpoint, on the instruction of Peter Walmsley
of Boyce Hatton Solicitors, the executor of the Lenkiewicz
estate. Every item in the sale is directly from the estate
of Robert Lenkiewicz and since his death has been held in
storage. The Executor will retain a small core group of
work, so along with hundreds of drawings and sketches,
Lenkiewicz 2008 includes the remaining monumental and
important paintings from the estate and will be the last
major dispersal.
THE SALE
includes work which spans the whole of The Painter’s life,
from the 1950s when Lenkiewicz lived in Hampstead, ranging
to work completed in the year of his death. Work that covers
almost 50 years which in itself is a documentary of the
path, the style, the attitude and the life of Robert
Lenkiewicz.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:
The Auctioneer is grateful for the permission from Derek
Harris to reproduce his photograph of The Temptation of
